Virginia Beach VA  What a great event!  The weather was warm and sunny on Friday and Saturday but turned cooler and cloudy and eventually the rain blew in during finals.  Eric Beauvais decided to take his RV to the event and invited Tim Kline, Andy Fink and Brian Rutledge.  They made it down to the event and spent the weekend partying but had problems leaving all this fun to go home.  Between breaking down in Stafford VA Sunday night because of a water pump to breaking down AGAIN on the DC Beltway due to overheating, they finally made it home very early Tuesday morning.  We'll have to watch and see if they're brave enough to attempt another trip.

Speed Retrieve Sunday morning was a tight race between the boys and the girls.  Reggie with Dodi Conrad and Bella with Tim Kline.  In the qualifiers, Bella sped to the lead with a 6.41, clearly leading the pack.  Reggie, jumping in the second group, almost overtook her lead with a 6.46 to qualify for finals.  Reggie bested his qualifying score with a 6.36 to secure 1st Place with Bella right behind with a 6.55 for 3rd Place.  A surprise competitor at her first event, Kori with Eric Beauvais, placed 5th with a 7.05 (6.99 qualifier).  Angie Jones & Nestle finished in 6th Place with a 7.37.

In Extreme Vertical - Top Guns, the Keystone Club dominated, winning every place but 1st and 7th.  New personal bests from three of the competitors sent the teams away with big grins and treats for the pups.  Thunder, with Sharon Rodgers, knocked down 6' 10" for a new PB over his old of 6' 6".  Sharon's still walking around with a grin on her face.  Jack, with Carrie Mogel, grabbed 6' 4" for a 2" improvement and Chocolate, with Angel Cervantes, grabbed 6' for a 4" improvement and 1st jump toward becoming a Top Gun.

Extreme Vertical - Cadets, had Buddy the big yellow lab, with Brandy Fowler, struting their stuff and getting the crowd on their side.  Buddy's been struggling to get 5' 2" so when he grabbed at 5' 4" matching his PB, Brandy was happy.  To the cheers of the crowd, Buddy grabbed 5' 6" then all the way up to 5' 8" making Brandy and the crowd go wild.
