Adamstown MD - Despite the heat and humidity, this was a great
event with 21 dogs jumping over 20' and vying for the Top 12 placements. The Pro Finals Bubble was at 22' 2"
by the end of the last wave on Sunday. After watching Abraham for over a year hesitating or refusing to jump, he
and Alisa thrilled everyone by finally "getting it" and going from a Novice Titled dog to a Master Titled dog
with a new Personal Best of 22' 4".
Andy Fink came to play with his game
face on and took both of his black labs, the veteran and the puppy, to the Top 4 medal round. It ended
up being the biggest jumping member of the puppy brigade Wee Willy WILSON that thrilled the crowd and club members by
battling it out with Rob & Seven the HUGE jumping GSP from NY for the 1st Place Pro spot. The first jump of the
top 4 medal round left them tied for the top dog at 24'4" and each one had just one
jump left for all the marbles. Wilson's second jump was 23' 5" and everyone held their breath as Seven
stepped up on the dock. Seven's experience won out with a 24' 3" jump and the win over the 10 month old
puppy Wilson. Congratulations to all the Keystone Members and our two Youth Handlers Taylor Rohrbaugh and Chris Ginder
who made it into the finals:

Several new Keystone teams made their debut at the event. First on the dock was Chris Ginder with
his new
puppy Zeus who managed to make the novice finals at his first event finishing in 4th place with a
jump of 8' 3"! Also competing for the first time was the newest Labs&Abs team debuting in
the lap dog division was Taylor and her JRT Spot. For a little dog, he had a lot of heart leaping a whole
5' 5".
Emi Cervantes & Fudge popped a huge jump of 18' 5" for a new Personal Best followed
closely by Taylor and Kovacs testing out their very own Blue Crab from the Cervantes family and getting their first senior
jump of 18' 2". Kristina Hershey & Leo finally "got in the double digits" with a
new Personal Best of 12'. Rocky with Kim Malmer was thrilled to have two other Lap Dogs to compete with and beat
them both with a 11' jump - a New Personal Best.
Then there was the huge, suspenseful, drawn-out battle of
the black labs Thunder and Jasper for 1st Place Top Gun. They both cleanly grabbed 6'
on their first try and went up to 6' 2". Amazingly, they both missed 6'2" and the bumper was lowered
to 6' 1". Thunder grabbed 6' 1" but Jasper missed his try for a 2nd Place Top Gun spot.
In Cadet EV Kovacs, with Taylor, watched his sister Hallie grab 5', followed her lead, and went on to beat her with
a 5' 2" grab. Congrats to all the Keystone Cadets - they swept the first through sixth spots with tie-breakers
needed:

- 5' 6"
3rd Place - Brandy Fowler & Buddy - 5' 6"
