Hanover PA - A HUGE amount of work into making this 3rd Annual Event into the great event it was.  Thank you to all the volunteers for all their hard work.  Your willingness to volunteer hours of your time can make or break an event.  The weather was hot and steamy with a huge storm developing out of nowhere on Saturday night and destroying over five canopies, capsizing two boats, and generally making a mess of the event area.

Keystone vs Cheapeake Challenge.  With 31 teams competing for each club, Keystone trounced Chesapeake for the second year in a row by jumping 568.80 feet to Chesapeake's 545.60 feet.

In a combined effort to raise money to support the Chase Away Cancer effort and the ACVIM foundation, Keystone and Chesapeake club members and our friends joined forces to push everyone to do their best.  Handlers started talking trash and putting the donation money where their mouths were!  It was great fun to see the dogs break new personal bests (Coleman, Hatcher, Maggie, Mia the golden, Twister, Jake) or beat their friendly rivals (Bella vs THUNDER, Clay vs Daisy Lou, and Lewis vs Finn).  From the puppy challenge where all the dogs under a year competed for the best jump of the weekend (Wilson over 20 feet!) to the veteran challenge of jumping the furthest or getting out of the lake the fastest, all in all we had a great time.  There were wagers for sit/stays on the dock....congrats to Twister, Daisy Lou and Talley!  As well as other wagers for fun.  Daisy Lou is happy to take back her Escape Artist title from Mia Fisher and will now be sharing it with all the other crazy yellow labs who escaped this weekend and were able to point the finger at Daisy!  She doesn't mind - they were all the right size!  Also, congratulations to Team Blabador on an outstanding weekend!  I know the blabs made her write a check for several of her challenges to those beautiful yella fellas!

Our Youth Handlers wowed the crowd this weekend.  After a new Personal Best of 6' in Extreme Veritcal and earning their Elite Title, Andrew Fisher & Morgan completed an exciting weekend winning 1st Place in the PRO Division with a 24.06 flying leap.  His sister Madison showed that puppies can do great things too, with her & Maya's  First Place Novice finish and Personal Best jump of 11.00.

Chris Ginder & Hatcher wowed all their supporters with a jump of 21.10.  Cody Beauvais & Kori jumped to a 15.01 winning 3rd Place in Junior Finals.  A new team starting just this year, Taylor Casalena & Dexter, jumped to an impressive 17.06.

Then there were the Youth Handlers that were kept busy handling muliple dogs.  Jessica Shadle & Kiara jumped 16.10 and Jessica with Abby jumped 12.06.  Taylor Rohrbaugh handled four of her own dogs along with two loaners:  Nestle & Daisy Lou.  Nestle jumped to an impressive 23.07 with Taylor and with a lot of hard work Taylor got Crazy Daisy Lou to STAY on the dock and Daisy jumped to a new Personal Best of 21.07.

Kristina Hershey and Leo earned a new Personal Best of 9.02. Kristina, along with Emily Hetrick and Cody Beauvais, braved the waters of Codorus to climb onto the speed retrieve platform and use the speed gun for Chase Away Cancer Speeding Tickets.

In the Extreme Vertical competition, Keystone team walked away with the first thru sixth Top Gun placements with Angie Jones & Nestle leading the pack with a 1st Place grab of 7.02.  Tim Kline & Jasper had a great run with Jasper beating Bella with a HUGE grab of 6.08.  Andrew & Morgan jumped to a new Personal Best of 6.00 and Wanda Landis and Chip, competing for the first time together, grabbed 5.06.

Keystone has some hard working, fast pups taking first thru fith place in Speed Retrieve.  Scott & Reggie lead the pack with a time of 5.57 followed by Tim & Bella with a 6.07 and Andrew & Morgan with a 6.51.

Earning 13 out of 24 slots, the Keystone teams dominated the
finals.  Scott Conrad & Reggie walked away with the Triple Threat Championship with the fastest Speed Retrieve time of 5.25 seconds, the second highest Extreme Vertical grab of 7.00 feet, and the third longest Big Air jump of 23.08 feet.  Congratulations to all the competitors and we hope to see you July 5 & 6 at our DVGRR Event in Reinholds.  Click here to see the complete Event Results and here to see the club statistics.
